Fun under the doona
January 2nd 2008 22:02
Still waiting for Pema to unpack. 349 days pregnant today. She’s sitting around like someone who’s had way too much dinner. She’s also puffy round the back end and bagging up a bit (getting an udder), so they’re good signs that she’s not too far away.
So, we just have to wait and watch. That’s the hard bit. As alpacas are pregnant for nearly 12 months, the last few weeks are just too long.
It's a good thing I have Lucy to keep me entertained. Dachshund Lucy likes to get (be lifted) into the bed and snuggles right down under the doona. She’ll just sleep there for as long as you let her.
It just takes the words "where's the rat" or "where's the bunny rabbit" and she's wide awake and ready to go again.

Alpaca Notes - Tasmania
New bub hit the ground at 10.30. (It's now 11.09 here). A little girl.
Just transferring all the pics off the camera(memory card full), then I'll go and take some more.
Just got to make sure she gets up and has a drink, then I can post her pic here. All very exciting.
Watch this space. Cheers.
