Bothwell SPINin
February 25th 2011 20:58
Just a little plug for the Bothwell SPINin which is an annual festival for folks interested in the end product of natural fibre products - fleece, wool, etc.
It's not specfic to alpaca (also sheep, goats, rabbits - any textile that can produce fabulous fabric and crafts really), but there will certainly be an alpaca contingent present.
Bothwell is a beautiful little town in the southern highlands of Tasmania. It has a fascinating history and some wonderful old buiildings. The festival features workshops in spinning wool, embroidery, smocking, silk dyeing and many other crafts which some younger folk would not even know exist.
They'll also have musical entertainment and food etc so well worth making a day of it if you happen to be in Tassie and looking for something interesting to do.
The Bothwell SPINin is on the 4, 5th and 6th of March. Here's a link to their website for more information. http://www.bothwellspinin.com
