More Mating Madness
April 22nd 2008 04:29
Well, Ginger’s still not pregnant, nor is Maddy. Cappy had a great time with Ginger yesterday. I didn’t have my watch on, but it seemed like he was there for an extraordinarily long time, much longer than his usual 20 minutes.
A marathon effort, in fact, despite the chaos going on around him. The crias like to join in, but they really just get in the way and I end up having toman person handle each of them out of the area, so poor Cappy can get on with it.
Maddy’s boyfriend, Stirling, from up the road, will need to come back and try again. Not sure what’s going wrong there, Maddy’s from a line of very easy breeders, so it’s strange that she hasn't taken.
The other girls all ran, screamed, kicked and spat when Cappy came near them. That included Sheba and Sabrina who I know are not pregnant, so they either think they are, or they don’t like Cappy, or they just don’t want to breed at the moment.
Rainy is coming up to 2 years old, so I’m thinking I might let him run with the reluctant ones for a few weeks and see if he has any luck. As for the rest, well fingers crossed they now have little bubs on the way.
Daizi’s turning into a funny character. She mated on the 9th April. Yesterday she didn’t run away from Cappy, like the other girls, instead she marched right up to him, flattened her ears and spat in his face.
It’s a wonder he still bothers with them at all given what these horrible girls do to him. That testosterone must be firmly in control.
