What colour?

If you’re registering alpacas you need to state what colour they are. The AAA (Australian Alpaca Association) has a chart with 12 colours on it and you need to pick the closest to the colour of the alpaca you’re registering.

Marco’s new herd mates

I’ve weaned Marco from his mum now. I put him in with Jamma and Rainy, Jamma’s an old wether (12 years I think from memory) and Rainy’s just coming up to 2 years old.

I’ve decided its time for Marco Polo to quit nursing from his mum and become what’s commonly known as a “weanling”.

In Australia, there are currently two main alpaca associations you can join, the Australian Alpaca Association (AAA) and the Australasian Alpaca Breeders Association (AABA).

This is going to be an incredibly boring post for 99.9% of the people in the world today. HOWEVER, there is probably a person out there in the world (or even maybe two) who have an alpaca, or a pig, goat, chicken, horse or dog, with the slops. And if you’ve ever had an animal with the slops, you’ll appreciate that this post may be very useful for them.
